IBS
Healing Chronic IBS and Digestive Imbalance
Symptoms:
Patient C had suffered from chronic digestive issues for over five years, including stomach ulcers, irregular bowel movements, constipation, and diarrhoea. Despite medication, her symptoms persisted and often worsened under stress or irregular eating habits.
Our Approach:
Treatment began with a combination of electro-qigong therapy and customised Chinese herbal medicine. During the first session, the patient felt little physical sensation — a sign of deep meridian blockage. In the second session, strong electrical feedback indicated Qi activation, and energy flow gradually returned. After the first week of herbal support, digestive symptoms surfaced temporarily — a positive sign in Traditional Chinese Medicine, showing that the body was beginning to release internal stagnation.
We complemented therapy with practical guidance on regular eating routines, gentle movement, and reducing mental stress, helping the patient rebuild balance between body rhythm and emotional state.
Results:
Bowel regularity restored; alternating constipation and diarrhoea stopped.
Stomach discomfort and bloating significantly reduced.
Improved digestion, appetite, and energy.
Calm and stable mood after meals; anxiety around eating disappeared.
Holistic Insight:
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, IBS reflects disharmony between the Liver, Gallbladder, and Spleen.
The Gallbladder governs bile secretion and digestive rhythm. When meal times are irregular or stress levels high, bile is released at the wrong time, irritating the stomach and intestines. Over time, this leads to functional contraction, toxin accumulation, and nervous system imbalance.
Energetically, the Gallbladder time (11 p.m.–1 a.m.) is when bile should be reabsorbed and the body regenerates. Staying awake or emotionally restless at this time prevents the Liver and Gallbladder from resetting, disturbing both digestion and sleep.
From a deeper perspective, long-term digestive weakness often mirrors a sense of powerlessness or emotional control from early life. When a person feels unable to “digest life” — experiences, emotions, or responsibilities — the gut mirrors that stagnation. Healing, therefore, requires not only restoring physical rhythm but also releasing subconscious tension and reclaiming inner autonomy.
Through integrated body-mind treatment, the patient regained healthy digestion, emotional stability, and a renewed sense of vitality — living once again with clarity, rhythm, and flow.
