Muscle Strain

Recovering from Chronic Muscle Strain and Energy Blockage

Symptoms:

Patient “J” came to our clinic with persistent leg pain and muscle tension.
Through treatment, we discovered that both legs had been chronically tight and weak, causing poor blood and Qi circulation.
He had experienced multiple muscle strains—from the left hamstring to the right thigh and shoulder—and never sought proper care immediately after injury, leading to severe tissue damage.
Diagnosis revealed blocked Gallbladder and Liver meridians, which affected muscle recovery and flexibility.

Our Approach:

We created a comprehensive rehabilitation plan to restore circulation, relax tension, and rebuild muscle vitality.
The treatment included:

  • Orthopedic alignment and deep massage to realign joints and release chronic tension.

  • Electro-Qigong therapy to activate muscle energy and stimulate healing.

  • Acupuncture and moxibustion to unblock Liver and Gallbladder meridians, improving blood flow and flexibility.

  • Diet and rest guidance to strengthen the Spleen (which governs muscles) and support recovery.

Over several sessions, the patient’s body gradually relaxed, blood circulation improved, and muscle elasticity returned.

Results:

  • Muscle pain and tightness significantly reduced.

  • Circulation improved throughout the legs and shoulders.

  • Strength and flexibility gradually restored.

  • No new injuries after regular maintenance sessions.

Holistic Insight:

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Spleen governs muscles and provides nourishment and elasticity.
When the Spleen is weak or Qi is stagnant, the body becomes tense, cold, and undernourished, making muscles prone to injury.
Even light exercise can cause strain if the body’s energy and blood are insufficient.
From a deeper emotional layer, weak Spleen energy often reflects difficulty in receiving nourishment and joy — living rigidly, feeling unfulfilled, and finding it hard to relax.

True healing occurs when the body regains both strength and softness — when Qi flows smoothly and one learns to move, work, and live with ease and playfulness rather than tension and control.
